Successful Dan easily wins Ben Ali Stakes feature

Successful Dan kept the Ben Ali Stakes trophy in the family on Sunday, easily winning the $150,000 Grade 3 feature at Keeneland.
A year ago his brother, Wise Dan, won this stakes race en route to clinching Horse of the Year honors.
Racing for the first time since finishing second in the Prairie Meadows Cornhusker Handicap last June, the 7-year-old showed no rust in earning his eighth victory in 12 career starts while improving to 4-0 at Keeneland. With Julien Leparoux aboard, Successful Dan never looked back on the six-horse field after starting from the No. 4 post.
He ran the 1-1/18 mile synthetic surface in 1:51.14 and paid $3.60, $2.40 and $2.10.
Boisterous was next and paid $3.00 and $2.20. Richard's Kid returned $2.60 for show.
Nine days ago here, Wise Dan won the Grade 1 Maker's 46 Mile.
