Stopping short: Phils' Rollins injured

A bad season got worse Monday night for the Phillies, as SS Jimmy Rollins was removed from the game with a left hamstring injury. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Rollins will miss at least 10 days, and Rollins concurred with that timetable. If you need to replace Rollins' speed, consider Cleveland's Jose Ramirez (owned in 2.6 percent of FOXSports.com leagues), who has six steals in the last month, and owns 2B/SS fantasy eligibility.
Monday's studs & duds
Stud: Our streaming selection, Marcus Stroman, shut out the Cubs on 93 pitches.
Stud: White Sox C Tyler Flowers slugged two home runs - including a game-tying blast in the ninth inning and a 12th-inning game winner - against the A's. Flowers is tied for eighth among catchers in the HR category, and his .247 BA isn't terrible. He's owned in just 6.6 percent of FOXSports.com leagues.
Stud: Pirates' lefty Jeff Locke continued his strong season with a seven-inning, one-run, nine-strikeout win over the Phillies.
Dud: Yo, Yovani Gallardo! What's with the five runs and 11 baserunners in 3 2/3 innings?
News & notes
Drew Storen got another save for the Nationals on Monday. Storen is owned in just 1.6 percent of FOXSports.com leagues, and has whiffed five of the last six batters he's faced. ONE-POINT-SIX PERCENT???!!! Come on, folks. What are you waiting for?
Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo (lower back strain) seems to be pushing for a return this weekend, but they're going to remain cautious with him. Don't get your hopes up just yet.
Remember in Monday's post, which said that A's closer Eric O'Flaherty wouldn't be available on Monday? I hope you listened, because O'Flaherty did pitch, but gave up that game-tying home run to Tyler Flowers. Fortunately, Sean Doolittle might return to the A's as soon as Thursday.
The Royals hope that closer Greg Holland (elbow) will be available today, and said that SP Danny Duffy will miss at least one start due to rotator cuff inflammation.
The Marlins think that SP Henderson Alvarez (oblique) could be ready to return on Friday.
Streaming starters
Stroman's excellent outing raised our record to 92-54 for the season. Today's pick is Jacob DeGrom (40.5 percent owned) against the Rockies, while Wednesday's selection is Pittsburgh's Vance Worley (7.2 percent owned) at Philly. I know, I know - the rule is that we don't choose pitchers that are owned in more than 40 percent of FOXSports.com leagues. deGrom was below that threshold on Monday, when the pick was made. If you need to dig deeper today, try Worley's teammate, Edinson Volquez (21.8 percent owned).
See you back here tomorrow morning.
