Over the last 21 games, DeShawn Stevenson has become a fixture in the Mavericks starting five. The 29-year-old guard has not only been the defensive presence that head coach Rick Carlisle expected him to be but the California native has also been there to knock down wide open shots when one of his teammates is double teamed.
For the year, Stevenson is shooting 48 percent from the field and an impressive 53.6 percent from long range. For his career, DeShawn is just a 35 percent shooter from behind the arc. So how does one explain the huge difference? Two words: shooting coach.
