Stanton to DL

The artist formerly known as Mike Stanton is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery on Sunday, placing the slugging Miami Marlin on the sidelines for an expected four-to-six weeks. Originally named to the All-Star team, Stanton had posted a .284/.364/.554 line with 19 bombs and 50 RBI in 80 contests on the campaign.

Owners who are scrambling to replace Stanton should look at the following outfield options:

- Dexter Fowler, Rockies: Owned in just 46.3 percent of FOXSports.com Fantasy Baseball leagues, Fowler maintains a .448 OBP with three homers, five RBI and nine runs in the last two weeks. Speaking of viable Colorado fantasy choices…

- Tyler Colvin, Rockies: Colvin has made the most of extended playing time, raking at .372 with ten dingers and 27 RBI in his last 21 games. Colvin also has the added bonus of first-base eligibility, and unlike other Mile-High hitters, is performing fairly well on the road, with a .293 average away from Coors Field. Colvin is possessed by a scant 12.8 percent of proprietors.

- Colby Rasmus, Blue Jays: He’s cooled off a bit as of late, but the former Cardinal has nine jacks in the past month. Despite this deep-ball dexterity, he’s still available in half of FOXSports formats.

- Jason Kubel, Diamondbacks: Kubel has been getting it done all season (.293 average, 14 homers, 59 RBI), yet the 30-year-old is available in nearly 60 percent of leagues. Kubel has been seeing an elevated amount of RBI opportunities in the past two weeks, with 16 ribbies in the last 14 games.
