St. Thomas marches on to Division III title game

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Jordan Roberts ran for 256 yards and three touchdowns as No. 4 St. Thomas (Minn.) beat second-ranked Linfield (Oregon) 38-17 to advance to the Division III championship.

Jack Kaiser added two first quarter touchdown runs and the Tommies (14-0) ran for 389 yards. St. Thomas will face top-ranked Mount Union in Friday's Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl in Salem, Virginia.

Mount Union (14-0), which beat Wisconsin-Whitewater 36-6 earlier Saturday, beat the Tommies in the 2012 championship.

Linfield (12-1) committed five turnovers, including a fumble and interception in the first quarter as St. Thomas built a 20-0 lead.

Sam Riddle came off the bench to throw two touchdown passes in the second half for the Wildcats, who have lost in the semifinals the past two seasons.
