CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand (AP) New Zealand's Matt Henry took 4-33 and Mitchell McClenaghan 3-32 as Sri Lanka was bowled out for just 117 in 27.4 overs despite winning the toss and batting Monday in the second game of the one-day series.

Sri Lanka looked unlikely to reach three figures when it was 81-8 at Hagley Oval but just made it, with Nusan Kulasekara's score of 19 being the highest of any batsman.

It was the second straight match that Henry had taken four wickets, ably filling the breach as the hosts rest pacemen Trent Boult and Tim Southee.

The Sri Lanka top-order failed in the opening match of the series, slumping to 27-5, and struggled again Monday, falling to 56-5 in what seemed to be prime batting conditions.

The pitch was the same one on which the first match was played and on which only 68 overs had been bowled, with Sri Lanka bowled out in that game for 188.

The surface offered good pace and bounce but no great movement and there was little explanation for the failure of the Sri Lanka batsman other than an apparent lack of confidence.

Already without Boult and Southee, New Zealand's attack was further reduced Monday by an injury to strike bowler Adam Milne, which opened the way for the selection of leg spinner Ish Sodhi, but he didn't get a bowl until Sri Lanka was 91-8.

Sri Lanka's batsmen played with aggression which was sometimes unwarranted but couldn't get on top of the bowlers or put consistent pressure on the field.

They mostly fell to flawed shots. Opener Danushka Gunathilaka (17) was brilliantly caught at cover by Mitchell Santner off Henry and Tillakaratne Dilshan (7) was trying to leave a Henry ball which ducked back at him, caught the edge and flew to Ross Taylor at slip.

Lahiru Thirimanne hoisted a rising ball from McClenaghan to Henry at deep third man and Dinesh Chandimal (9) was trapped lbw by a slight inswinger from Doug Bracewell.

Captain Angelo Mathews looked in good touch before turning a McClenaghan bouncer on his ribs down the leg side to wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi. Milinda Siriwardana (12), Sri Lanka's top-scorer with 66 in Saturday's match, again looked composed until he cut at a McClenaghan ball too close to his body and picked out Henry Nicholls at point.

Kulasekara was the last man out, giving Henry his fourth wicket of an innings that lasted only 134 minutes.
