COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AP) Australia's fast bowler Mitchel Starc and spinner Nathan Lyon ripped through Sri Lanka's top order reducing them to 55-5 at lunch on the opening day of the third and final cricket test.
Asked to field by Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews on Saturday, Australia tasted success in the fifth over of the game when Starc had Kaushal Silva caught at slip by Steve Smith without scoring with the total on two.
He also dismissed Dimuth Karunaratne (7) and Kusal Mendis (1) for figures of 3-10.
Lyon returned 2-21 having dismissed Kusal Perera (16) and Mathews (1).

Dhananjaya de Silva was not out 23 with Dinesh Chandimal unbeaten on seven at the interval.
Sri Lanka leads the series 2-0.
