DALLAS (AP) -- Tony Parker missed about a quarter of Friday's game against Dallas after taking three stitches for a cut above the left eye.

It is the same eye that the San Antonio guard almost seriously hurt when he got caught in a bottle-throwing incident last summer.

Parker was injured in a collision with Elton Brand on a drive early in the first quarter. No foul was called, and Parker stayed down alone under the basket covering his left eye for about 20 seconds during a Dallas possession on the other end.

After returning early in the second quarter, Parker hit three straight shots and finished the first half with 10 points.

Parker was a bystander at a New York club when tiny shards of glass from a broken bottle embedded in the cornea of his left eye.
