LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. (AP) Spud Spivens led nearly all the way to win the $31,620 feature by 1 1/4 lengths Friday at Los Alamitos.
Ridden by Martin Garcia, Spud Spivens ran a mile in 1:36.31 and paid $13.80, $6 and $5 as the 5-1 third choice in the field of nine.
Indygo Bo rallied from last to return $7.40 and $5.40, while 21-1 shot Deep Consideration was another neck back in third and paid $7.40 to show.
Saint Dermot, the 11-10 favorite, finished fifth.

The victory, worth $19,440, increased Spud Spivens' career earnings to $385,667, with 10 wins in 50 starts. Trained by Shelbe Ruis, Spud Spivens won for the third time in his last five starts after going 0 for 7 last year.
