LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) Indian sprinter Dutee Chand can compete at the Asian Championships while awaiting a verdict in her appeal against a ban for having high male hormone levels.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport says ''it was agreed that the athlete would be eligible'' for the Asian event from June 3-7 in Wuhan, China.
The 19-year-old Chand could previously compete in only national-level events during the case.
CAS says no target date is set for publishing a verdict.
Chand was barred from competition by the Athletics Federation of India because of ''hyperandrogenism.'' Her body naturally produces testosterone above guidelines set by the IAAF governing body.
Chand's appeal challenges her ban and IAAF rules on hyperandrogenism, introduced after South African 800-meter runner Caster Semenya won the 2009 world title at age 18.
