When it comes to finding ways to win, Michigan State and Iowa have flip-flopped.
The Spartans are the ones making all the right moves after suffering heart-breaking losses last season.
The Hawkeyes, meanwhile, are coming off a crushing 31-30 loss to Wisconsin last week after winning numerous close games a year ago.
On Saturday in Iowa City, last year's so-called "team of destiny" meets this year's "team of destiny" in the Big Ten.
Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio, whose team won on a fake field goal in overtime against Notre Dame and used a fake punt to rally last week to beat Northwestern, isn't buying into the magic-dust theory.
"I don't believe in superstition, I believe in God, my faith," Dantonio said Tuesday during his weekly news conference.
