After a spring full of uncertainty, Michigan State wide receiver DeAnthony Arnett has been granted his request for a residence waiver after transferring to East Lansing from Tennessee.
The decision came earlier Thursday, according to the Spartans Twitter feed, and it will allow Arnett to participate in all 2012 activities.
Mark Dantonio said via the Spartans Twitter feed that Arnett was "thrilled with the NCAA's decision."
Arnett had put in a transfer request to Michigan State in order to be closer to his ailing father, who is on dialysis and couldn't attend games in Knoxville, Tenn.
According to NCAA rules, Arnett would normally have to sit out a full season before he would have been eligible to suit up for the Spartans, but the residence waiver will allow him to play this season instead.
Arnett, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound sophomore from Saginaw, Mich., hauled in 24 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns as a freshman with Tennessee last season.
