Soria slated for back-to-back appearances

ARLINGTON, Texas – Joakim Soria's days making minor-league rehab appearances appear to be numbered.

Soria, who is rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, is slated to make back-to-back appearances Wednesday and Thursday for Double-A Frisco. Those could be his final two stints as that normally signal a reliever is ready to go.

There's nothing in Soria's minor-league numbers to indicate otherwise either. The right-hander hasn't allowed a run in five appearances between Arizona, Frisco and Triple A Round Rock. He's allowed just one hit and struck out seven in his five innings.

"I've been feeling really good every single outing," Soria said. "I've been throwing the ball good. My command is good. From now on, it depends on how you feel day-by-deal. They'll decide the next step."

If there are no issues, there's a chance the Rangers could activate Soria in time for their road trip that begins Monday in Baltimore.
