Sore left hamstring sidelines Rangers Hamilton

Josh Hamilton's game-winning double in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Boston Red Sox was a costly one.
Hamilton tweaked his left hamstring on the play and wasn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Chicago. He's day-to-day and doesn't think it's serious.
"I don't think it's a huge deal," said Hamilton, who didn't start Sunday either. "It's different if you're in the infield playing a position where you're not having to run full speed and running balls down. So I don't want to jump out there and really get it good and be down for a long time."
Hamilton said he took a machine home Monday and got treatment all day Monday and said it was better Tuesday. Manager Jeff Banister said Hamilton could be available to pinch hit.
Roster moves
Joey Gallo wasn't the only new addition to the Rangers Sunday. Texas also brought up outfielder Jake Smolinski from Round Rock. Smolinski is taking Adrian Beltre's roster spot since he has been with the Rangers in the last 10 days and can only come up for an injury.
To make room for Gallo Texas sent left-hander Alex Claudio to Round Rock.
Rehab updates
In addition to Matt Harrison starting for Triple-A Round Rock Wednesday at Reno, outfielder Ryan Rua will also join the Express. Rua hasn't played since the home opener when he fractured his right heel.
First baseman Kyle Blanks will also head to extending-spring training where he'll begin rehabbing Friday. Blanks went on the DL May 22 because of a Pilonidal cyst.
