Punching was the case that they gave him.

Cordell Broadus, son of Calvin Broadus — better known as Snoop Dogg, err, Snoop Lion — has been suspended from the Diamond Bar (Calif.) High School football team for punching an opponent during a scrum last week, TMZ reports.

The younger Broadus, 16, is the No. 6 wide receiver in the class of 2015, according to Scout.com. Video of the incident is poor in quality — so much so that one can hardly draw any conclusions from it.

What is clear is that there was a physical confrontation involving several players from both Diamond Bar and Diamond Ranch. The game was called off with three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, and the California Interscholastic Federation is expected to announce suspensions for dozens of those players — including Broadus.

According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Broadus is likely to be among the 20-some players suspended for Diamond Bar’s next game on Nov. 1.

National Federation of State High School Association rules state that any player leaving the bench during a fight is subject to a one-game suspension.
