Singler Heads Up AP All American Team

DURHAM, N.C. - Senior Kyle Singler was named an Associated Press Preseason All-America on Monday, being placed on 62 of 65 ballots for the leading vote-getter in the nation.

Joining Singler on the preseason All-America team is Jacob Pullen of Kansas State (53 votes), Jimmer Fredette of BYU (49 votes), JaJuan Johnson of Purdue (46 votes) and Harrison Barnes of North Carolina (17 votes).
Singler is a senior captain on a team that captured the 2010 NCAA National Championship and will start the season ranked No. 1 in the nation by both the AP and USA Today/Coaches polls.

For his career Singler is averaging 15.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He has started 110 of 111 career games and ranks 18th at Duke with 1,767 career points. His 1,767 points were the third-most by a junior in school history. He also ranks 18th at Duke with 762 career rebounds and has 20 career double-doubles.

Singler and the Blue Devils will be in action Thursday night at 7 p.m. against Cal Poly Pomona for the final tune up for the 2010-11 season.
