Shaq torches Reggie Miller; Time for the DH to go?

The Diesel doesn't forget. Shaquille O'Neal sent a blistering message to his TNT colleague Reggie Miller, who brought up the Hack-a-Shaq strategy while working Sunday night's Rockets-Mavericks game.
Shaq was referring to the 2000 NBA Finals in which his Lakers beat Miller's Pacers in six games. O'Neal averaged 38 points, 16.7 rebounds and was the series MVP. The Hack-a-Shaq might not have helped Indiana win, but O'Neal was just 36 of 93 (39 percent) from the charity stripe for the six games.

Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer says it's time the National League put an end to pitchers hitting. The right-hander, who jammed his thumb while batting last week, explained why he's pro-DH coming to the senior circuit: "If you look at it from the macro side, who'd people rather see hit — Big Papi or me? Who would people rather see, a real hitter hitting home runs or a pitcher swinging a wet newspaper?"
Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle wanted to make sure he didn't get fined again for criticizing the refs, so he went with the duct tape move during his press conference after Dallas beat Houston last night.
Comedian, former "Saturday Night Live" cast member and die-hard Mets fan Jim Breuer provided live updates throughout the weekend on the Subway Series. After the red-hot Mets were cooled off by the Yankees, who took two of three games, Breuer offered this report live from Yankee Stadium.
