G Ramon Sessions doesn't want to become an NBA vagabond.
On the other hand, he wouldn't mind being a starter at some point in his career. Like everyone else in the NBA, he's anxiously awaiting the March 15 trade deadline.
He'd love to know whether he'll remain with the Cavaliers or move to his fourth NBA team in the last five years. Despite being stuck behind Rookie of the Year candidate Kyrie Irving, sources say he has not asked to be traded.
The Cavs (13-21) are trying to add a second first-round pick in the talent-rich 2012 draft. Sources indicate that the Cavs might be able to get a first-rounder in exchange for Sessions.
Sessions is having a solid season as Irving's backup, as he has averaged 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and a team-high 5.3 assists. He has been shooting a career-low 38.8 percent from the field, 41.7 percent from the three-point arc and a career-high 82.9 percent from the foul line.
He started at point guard in the Cavs' 112-91 loss to Chicago on Friday. He finished with 16 points and seven assists. He could start again if Irving sits out Saturday in Washington.
Sessions is one of the most productive backup point guards in the league. He has averaged 4.7 assists in 30 games off the bench, second-best in the NBA.
The two teams that have reportedly shown the most interest in the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Sessions are Atlanta and the Los Angeles Lakers. There could be more possible suitors by the trade deadline.
If Sessions ever wants to be a starting point guard, however, it probably won't be in Cleveland. Irving, 19, could be a permanent fixture for years to come.
Sessions has the ability to opt out of his contract at the end of the season, and he's expected to become a free agent. His contract is worth $4.6 million for 2012-13. He might sacrifice some money next season for the security of a multiyear contract.

Irving honored, but sits out Bulls game
--G Kyrie Irving was named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month on Thursday for games played in the month of February. In 10 games, he averaged 19.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists and shot 42 percent from the field. In February, he ranked first in scoring, 3-point percentage, free-throw percentage and assists among East rookies. Irving scored 20 or more points in six of 10 games. He also won the award for December/January. He was held out of Friday's loss to Chicago with an "illness." He made the trip to Washington for Saturday's game, but Coach Byron Scott said they'll see how he feels before the game.
--The Cavs signed G Manny Harris to a second 10-day contract. His first deal ended after the Knicks game on Wednesday. Maybe this time, he'll play more than the six seconds he played during his first 10-day deal. Harris played 18 minutes on Friday and scored nine points.

--G-F Christian Eyenga's season has already been a disaster. He suffered a right little toe laceration that required three stitches before the Boston game on Tuesday at The Q. He'll miss the next two or three games. He was going to be inactive anyway.
--G Kyrie Irving has made his last 31 free throws, dating back to the Indiana game on Feb. 15. His 95.3 free-throw percentage in February is the highest by a rookie in a month since Boston's Chauncey Billups set an NBA rookie record by going 41 of 41 in March 1998.
--Cavs coach Byron Scott said he might be ready to make changes to the starting lineup or his rotation. F Omri Casspi or C Semih Erden's starting jobs could be in jeopardy, possibly in Washington on Saturday. "I'm not worried about that," Casspi said.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--C Anderson Varejao (broken right wrist) was injured in the Milwaukee game on Feb. 10. He'll miss four to six weeks.
--G Kyrie Irving (illness) missed Friday's game. It's unsure whether he'll play in Washington on Saturday. He did make the trip.
