Second half collapse sinks Jaguars

Through one half of play, David Garrard was near flawless, the Jaguars running game was unstoppable and it appeared as if Jacksonville would be in first place by themselves at least for a few hours. After holding a 17-6 lead at the intermission, the Jaguars would struggle on both sides of the ball eventually leading to a 24-20 defeat.

Jacksonville could seemingly do whatever they wanted in the first half. They ran the football, against a team that yielded just over 80 yards per game, 20 times for 145 yards. Garrard completed 11 of his 16 throws and the Jaguars didn't need the services of punter Adam Podlesh.
