The footage comes from a cricket match at Sussex County Cricket Ground in East Sussex, England, where batter Ryan Higgins for Middlesex wrecked a pitch that grounded the poor seagull.
Higgins' shot apparently looked like a sure sixer -- which this American understands is equivalent to a home run in baseball. Anyhow, importantly, the seagull lived! As for Higgins, he scored only two runs.
Things could have gone much, much worse for the gritty bird.
