I wrote down last week's rankings like I do crossword puzzles, in pencil. In four years of doing the Top 20 in the CIF-SS for FOXSportsWest.com, I can't remember a year when there was this much parity, and that unpredictability made for an exciting Week 0 full of "upsets".
Get used to it. Several traditional powers like Mission Viejo, Oaks Christian, Servite, St. Bonaventure, and Corona Centennial have already seen the prospect of an undefeated season go up in smoke.
Last week was called Week 0, because not every team had begun play yet. Think of it like the ground floor of a hotel, a starting point. Everyone is in action this week, and some teams will be looking to reboot their season already.
