ARLINGTON, Texas –€“ Righthanded reliever Tanner Scheppers was sent down to Triple-AAA Round Rock on Monday after struggling since his return to the Rangers.

Scheppers had an 11.25 ERA in five appearances since returning from the disabled list April 17 (ankle sprain).

"We felt like that Tanner needs to go and continue to work, continue to log in some innings," Rangers manager Jeff Banister said. "I don't forsee this being a long-term deal. Tanner will be, and is, one the best we have. You need to have some consistency. Sometimes you have a couple of things to work on."
