OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) Sawyer held off Tela by a half-length to win the $40,000 allowance feature at Monmouth Park on Sunday.
Trained by Jane Cibelli and ridden by Trevor McCarthy, the 4-year-old filly ran the mile over a firm turf course in 1:35 3/5 and returned $12.60, $5.60 and $3.40. It was Sawyer's sixth win in 15 career starts.
Tela paid $12.80 and $6.40, while betting favorite Zloty was three lengths back in third and returned $2.40.
