Eastern Michigan stops high-scoring Toledo 65-44

YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) -- Da'Shonte Riley had seven blocked shots to anchor Eastern Michigan's dominant 2-3 zone in a 65-44 victory over Toledo on Saturday.

With the MAC's top defense at 62.8 points per game, EMU (15-10, 7-5 Mid-American) held Toledo to 14 of 54 from the field (25.9 percent).

Toledo (21-4, 9-3) entered the game first in the MAC and 11th in the nation in scoring offense (83.3 ppg), but the 44 points were 23 less than its previous season low of 67.

Ohio edges Buffalo 73-70, ties for 2nd in MAC East

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Antonio Campbell scored back-to-back baskets off his own rebounds in the final 1:03, lifting Ohio past Buffalo 73-70 on Saturday afternoon.

Maurice Ndour and Nick Kellogg each scored 17 points as the Bobcats (18-7, 8-4 Mid-American) overcame a 10-point deficit in the final 10 minutes and forced their way into a second-place tie with Buffalo (14-8, 8-4) in the conference's east division.

Bowling Green edges Ball State 66-64

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) -- Spencer Parker scored 22 points, and Richaun Holmes had 17 with 11 rebounds and Bowling Green overtook Ball State in the final minute winning 66-64 on Saturday.

Bowling Green (11-14, 5-7 Mid-American Conference) led all the way until Ball State (4-9, 1-11) took over at 48-47 with 11 minutes remaining in the second half.

Ball State pulled ahead by as many as five points down the stretch and led 64-61 with a minute to play before Spencer Parker made two free throws and Anthony Henderson added a layup and Bowling Green regained the lead 65-64 with 44 seconds remaining. Ball State missed its next two attempts inside and the Falcons added a free throw to pad the victory.

Western Michigan knocks off Miami (Ohio) 68-57

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) -- Austin Richie and Shayne Whittington combined for 38 points as Western Michigan easily defeated Miami (Ohio) 68-57 Saturday.

Western Michigan moved into a tie with Toledo atop the Mid-American Conference West Division after Eastern Michigan drubbed Toledo 65-44 Saturday. Western Michigan and Toledo both are 9-3 in the MAC.

Kent St pulls away from Cent Michigan, 83-75

KENT, Ohio (AP) -- Kellon Thomas was 8 of 10 from the free throw line in the final 2:18 as Kent State held off Central Michigan in a conference cross-over game Saturday night.

Down by nine at intermission, Central Michigan, with just one win in 12 Mid-America Conference games, took the lead midway through the second half.

Treadwell leads Akron past Northern Illinois 62-54

AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- Demetrius Treadwell scored 25 points, on 9-of-12 shooting, and pulled down 10 rebounds as Akron took over sole possession of first place of the Mid-American Conference's East Division with a 62-54 win over Northern Illinois on Saturday night.

Akron (17-8, 9-3 Mid-American) came into the game tied with Buffalo (14-8, 8-4), who lost to Ohio, 73-70, earlier in the day.
