TOKYO (AP) Argentina's Nicolas Sanchez scored two tries as the Pumas overpowered Japan 54-20 on Saturday in their first test under new coach Jamie Joseph.
Sanchez kicked three penalties and added a try late in the first half as the visitors took a comfortable 21-6 lead at halftime.
Any chance for a comeback by Joseph's team was dashed when Santiago Cordero ran in a try three minutes after the break which Sanchez converted for a 28-6 lead.

Matias Moroni added another try in the 48th to give Argentina a 35-6 advantage. Japan responded with an Amanaki Lelei Mafi try converted by Yu Tamura to cut the lead to 35-13.
But Sanchez crossed on the hour mark to make it 40-13 and Cordero and Ramiro Herrera added further tries to complete the win.
