LONDON (AP) South Africa says captain Faf du Plessis may miss the first test against England, even though his first child has been born.

Cricket South Africa said on Friday that Du Plessis will wait until his wife, Imari, and baby are settled at home before traveling to Britain.

The first match of the four-test series starts on Thursday at Lord's.

If Du Plessis misses out, Dean Elgar will captain the Proteas.
