OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) Ruby Notion cruised to a 2 1/4-length victory over Tight Weave on Sunday in the $60,000 Colleen Stakes at Monmouth Park.
Trained by Wesley Ward and ridden by Rafael Hernandez, the 2-year-old filly ran five furlongs on the firm turf course in 56 3/5 and paid $4.60, $3.60 and $2.60. It was the second win in three career starts for Ruby Notion, who has now earned $53,518l.
Tight Weave returned $7.40 and $6.20, and Silver Majorette was half-length back in third and paid $6.40.
