KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The Royals have agreed to one-year contracts with pitchers Jonathan Sanchez, Luke Hochevar and Felipe Paulino along with reserve outfielder Mitch Maier, avoiding arbitration.

Sanchez will get $5.6 million along with up to $200,000 in performance bonuses. He was obtained during the offseason in a trade that sent outfielder Melky Cabrera to San Francisco.

Hochever will receive $3.51 million after a breakout season in which he went 11-11 with a 4.68 ERA. The former No. 1 overall draft pick led the Royals in innings pitched and strikeouts.

Paulino will get $1.9 million after arriving late last season from Colorado. Maier will make $865,000 along with $10,000 for 100 plate appearances and $50,000 for making the All-Star game.

Outfielder Alex Gordon is the only remaining player in arbitration, though the team has been working on a long-term deal.
