About a week before the Cowboys open training camp in Oxnard, Calif., quarterback Tony Romo is scheduled to play in the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship at Lake Tahoe.
And Romo is expected to do well.
According to the Associated Press, Romo, who has finished second each of the last three years, is the favorite to win the event at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course from July 20-22.
On Tuesday, Harrah's Tahoe Sportsbook posted the opening lines with the 32-year-old as a 5/2 favorite.
Former MLB pitcher Rick Rhoden, an eight-time tournament winner, is listed at 4/1, former NFL quarterback Billy Joe Tolliver, a three-time champion, at 9/2 and 1996 National League Cy Young winner John Smoltz at 5/1.
Other notables include Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway (12/1) and Pro Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley (500/1).
