IRVING – Tony Romo maintains that Dez Bryant's sideline behavior during the second half of Sunday's 31-30 loss in Detroit was not a distraction.

Romo said Thursday that although Bryant's actions have become a popular topic on the television and radio and in the newspapers, they don't have a negative impact in the locker room because Bryant's a "positive teammate."

"If it's a distraction, I think invariably any human being who can create a distraction should not do those things," Romo said. "To us, it's not a distraction.

"Does he need to sometimes maybe look a little different for what's going to be written and talked about? Sure. Does it really matter in here? No. He's a positive guy who loves his teammates. What else do you want? He's passionate and he comes to work every day with a great attitude. I'd like a lot of teammates like that."

Bryant was targeted six times against the Lions with only two of those passes coming in the first half, and both came in the final two minutes of the second quarter.

Every one in the Cowboys organization says Bryant wasn't complaining about getting more passes, but it certainly would make sense if he was.

"I think some games he gets targeted 10 times, 12 times," Romo said. "He's a great player. You just got to find a way to get him the ball and he had two touchdowns last week. That's usually a pretty good game. But obviously the guy on the other side had a real good day.

"I think when the season's over, you'll find that Dez had a pretty good year and he did a lot of great things."

Through eight weeks, Bryant is second in the league in touchdown receptions (8), sixth in targets (77), eighth in receiving yards (641) and 14th in receptions (45).
