Roman Ceres 2 for 2 after Big A feature allowance victory

NEW YORK (AP) Roman Ceres improved to 2 for 2, rallying to beat Madame Maybry by three-quarters of a length Thursday in the $57,000 allowance feature for 3-year-old fillies at Aqueduct.
The 3/5 favorite, ridden by Junior Alvarado, sat second while Madame Maybry set the pace in the six-furlong race for New York breds.
Roman Ceres collared the leader in the stretch and finished strongly in the followup to her debut win here last month.
She paid $3.50, $2.30 and $2.10. Madame Maybry returned $3.50 and $2.90.

Surprise Cameo closed from last in the six-horse field to get third. She paid $3.20 to show.
The time was 1:12.54 on the fast track.
