Rodgers surprisingly falls to No. 11 in ranking of NFL's top 100 players
Apparently, Aaron Rodgers is only the 11th-best player in the NFL.
The countdown of the league's 100 best players listed off Nos. 20-11 this week, and to the surprise of many, Rodgers found himself on the outside of the top 10.
It's supposed to be a list that's put together as voted on by NFL players, but former Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Tom Crabtree doesn't think that's happening.
"I say it every year; I have yet to meet a player who actually voted on this," Crabtree posted on Twitter.
Two years ago, Rodgers was ranked No. 1 in this countdown. Last year, he was No. 6 on the list. That means Rodgers has once again fallen five spots in the eyes of his peers, if in fact players are voting.
Rodgers is coming off a 2013 season in which he missed seven starts due to a fractured collarbone. That undoubtedly had a negative effect on Rodgers' ranking. But despite the Packers' 8-7-1 record last season, Green Bay was 6-2 in games in which Rodgers started and finished.
The order of the top 10 will be revealed next week, but quarterbacks Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Tom Brady will be among them. Other players who will be in the top 10 include running back Adrian Peterson, wide receiver Calvin Johnson and cornerback Richard Sherman.
The Packers had four players make the top 100 this year, with running back Eddie Lacy at No. 90, wide receiver Jordy Nelson at No. 83 and outside linebacker Clay Matthews at No. 77.
