Rockies Reach Deal With Clemson's Parker

As expected, a last-second deal was reached between Clemson quarterback Kyle Parker and the Colorado Rockies Monday night. Originally the No. 26 overall pick in the 2010 MLB Draft this past June, Parker inked a contract worth $1.4 million shortly before Monday's midnight deadline.
While the move guarantees he is done playing baseball at Clemson, his football career will continue at least one more year if not longer.
The redshirt sophomore quarterback missed practice Monday night at Clemson so he could focus on the contract negotiations in Augusta, Ga. with his father, Carl Parker.
He's also slated to miss Tuesday morning's scrimmage as well.
"He has done a great job focusing on football since he came back to school," Dabo Swinney said after Monday morning's practice. "He had a great scrimmage on Saturday. I know he is looking forward to getting this contract settled. We won
