Young Stephanie Gilmore inspired the world of surfing when she
burst onto the scene in 2007, becoming the first rookie to ever win
the ASP World Title.
Rip Curl documents the journey of Stephanie’s 2008
season. Despite her being only twenty years old, Stephanie began
her 2008 season with the expectations of the whole surfing
community on her shoulders.
The first event of the season features Stephanie surfing on
her native Gold Coast in Australia. From there, the surfing tour
heads to the world famous Hells Bells competition in Bells Beach,
Australia. Rip Curl offers an opportunity to see world class
surfing footage, and coastlines of all varieties.
Rip Curl follows the Australian phenom as she surfs in
competitions all over the world, including in exotic locations such
as Indonesia, Bali, and Peru. The cameras also follow
Stephanie’s fiercest rivals as they describe
Stephanie’s attitude toward the sport, and discuss how
