Rex Ryan vs. Bill Belichick: Who wins that fight?

By Sid Saraf, FOXSports.com How much would you pay to see Rex Ryan take a swing at Bill Belichick? It won't happen, but don't think the Jets coach wasn't above using that as a possibility to motivate his team. Former Gang Green running back LaDainian Tomlinson appeared on NFL Network's "Total Access" on Tuesday and told a classic Rex story. "We were playing the Patriots one time, and as I mentioned, Rex is a master motivator," said Tomlinson. "It was going to be a big game, a heated rivalry game, and Rex got in front of us, he said, 'I'm going to set the tempo today, guys,' he said, 'I'm going to set the tempo when I meet Bill Belichick in the center of the field, I'm gonna start it off and punch him in the face.' I loved it." How serious was he? "He was motivating his guys and he wanted to jump it off," Tomlinson said. " ... Our coach showed confidence that he has in us (and) in himself. He can be joking and lighten the mood at the same time while being serious about the competition." Of course he wasn't being serious. Grown professional men can't act that way. BUT ... just for fun, what would happen if Rexy and Billy Boy did throw down fisticuffs? Three years ago, I'd say Belichick wins in a landslide. True, Rex had the size, but his weight issues would have seriously slowed him down. Bill's speed advantage and dedication in the film room would have exploited every weakness. I'd say Bill would play keep away for three rounds before Rex would eventually start dry-heaving in the corner, allowing the Patriots coach to swoop in for the easy knockout. But look at Rex now!

That is one svelte and sexy man. He's been cutting calories, hitting the gym and getting himself in shape. I imagine with a couple weeks to prepare along with a few runs down the beach with Apollo Creed and Rex would bring the heat on Bill. There's nothing like the self-confidence that comes with dropping some serious poundage. I think I might even put my hard-earned money on Rex to take it all with a first-round knockout.
