The MLB trade deadline is less than a month away and the Indians have an important decision to make: Are they buyers or sellers?
If they're able to knock the Royals out of second place and keep pace with the Tigers, Cleveland will likely be looking to add a few pieces before the end of the month.
As trade rumors start heating up, one player that the Indians have recently been linked to is Mets starter Bartolo Colon.
Colon, who began his MLB career with the Tribe (1997-2002), is said to be on the trade block and the Indians are one of the teams that could show interest.
According to the New York Post's sources, the Mets will listen to offers for Colon and may actively shop the veteran right-hander:
The Mets can expect to be offered one, good upper-level prospect for Colon, according to former GM now ESPN analyst Jim Bowden.
The 41-year-old Colon is 8-6 with a 3.88 ERA in 16 starts for the Mets in 2014.
Of course if the Indians indeed end up trading for Colon and things fall apart down the stretch, all will not be completely lost -- as Colon would surely still provide some highly entertaining baseball moments.
