Wrong place, wrong time.

That is the best way to describe San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker's night Wednesday when he was injured at a New York City club where a fight allegedly broke out between recording artists Chris Brown and Drake, according to Complex.com.

Parker told reporters at a news conference Friday that he suffered an eye injury after glass bottles were tossed around the bar during the incident, according to multiple reports. Parker believes the injury will sideline him seven days.

“I was quietly with my friends when a fight broke out,” Parker said. “Bottles started flying
everywhere. I tried to protect my girlfriend and I got everything. The
cornea was affected. I cannot do anything for seven days. I was lucky.
They almost had to give me stitches.”

According to the San Antonio Express-News, Parker was trying to shield his girlfriend from broken glass.

The San Antonio newspaper said a Spurs spokesperson declined comment about the incident and said the team had no additional information about the injury.

It's unclear whether the injury will impact Parker's playing status for France in the London Summer Olympics. The team begins its pre-Olympic training camp next week.

Chris Brown reportedly tweeted a picture of his chin that had a large, open gash, shortly after the fight was said to have taken place, but the photo was eventually pulled from his Twitter account.

The New York City Council and NYPD will review policies regarding bottle service in New York City bars in the wake of the fight, TMZ reported.

"The purpose of this meeting is to send a clear message to all nightclub
patrons that bottles cannot be used as weapons and to determine if the
guidelines surrounding bottle service need to be updated or reworked," city council speaker Chistine C. Quinn said in a statement.
