Report: Wildcats land nation's seventh-best recruit

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona's men's basketball recruiting class appears to be closing in on Top 5 territory.
The Los Angeles Times has reported Stanley Johnson, rated by Scout.com as the nation's seventh-best player, has decided he'll attend Arizona in the fall. Johnson, a 6-foot-6, 225-pound forward from Mater Dei High in Santa Ana, Calif., will officially announce his choice on Friday afternoon.
Scout rated Arizona's recruiting class No. 12 when the fall signing period began on Wednesday, and Johnson's addition could push them into or close to the top five for a third consecutive year.
Johnson reportedly had narrowed his decision down to Arizona, USC and Kentucky.
Miles Simon and Reggie Geary are among the previous Mater Dei alums who have played at Arizona.
Earlier this week Miller said he expects to sign anywhere from four to five players for next year's class.
Johnson would be No. 4, joining Las Vegas' Findlay Prep forward Craig Victor (ranked No. 17 by Scout), 5'9" point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright (No. 50) out of Los Angeles and 6'3" junior college guard Kadeem Allen.
