Apparently looking to bolster their smallish frontline, the Thunder have an eye on one of the NBA's biggest players.

According to Yahoo Sports's Adrian Wojnarowski, Oklahoma City is considering a trade for 7'3'' Grizzlies center Hasheem Thabeet. Thabeet has been a colossal disappointment since being drafted second overall in 2009, with career averages of 2.3 points and 2.8 rebounds, but just turned 24 and could be a bargain of Oklahoma City could acquire him on the cheap.

Nenad Kristic is the only big man in the Thunder's rotation over 7'0'', with Nick Collison and Serge Ibaka standing 6'10'' and Jeff Green 6'9''. Thabeet also had a reputation as a fearsome shot blocker during his college career at UConn, and while the Thunder rank seventh in the NBA in blocks per game, none of their big men resemble a lane-clogging presence.

The key in any Thabeet deal would be price, as Oklahoma City will not pay much to bring him in even despite his lottery pedigree. If such a deal reaches fruition, though, the Thunder will be hoping to catch lightning in a bottle for a bargain basement price.
