Oh, those clever Texas Tech fans. If they aren't tossing tortillas onto the field for reasons unexplained, they're sending prank faxes to former football coaches.
You probably remember the story of how Tommy Tuberville left Texas Tech for Cincinnati.
One story alleges that Tuberville was at dinner at the 50 Yard Line Steakhouse with a Texas Tech recruit in Lubbock when Tuberville abruptly got up, left, and took the job at Cincinnati, making the announcement the next morning.
That's what one recruit said, but Tuberville said that wasn't what happened. The point is, Texas Tech fans believe that's what happened. So on Wednesday – National Signing Day in college football – fans knew Tuberville would be anticipating a whole bunch of faxes from high school football players across the nation who would be signing letters of intent to play for the Bearcats.
And, according to Texas Tech's SB Nation site, Viva the Matadors, the fans faxed Tuberville copies of the menu for the 50 Yard Line Steakhouse, the restaurant in question. It came with a note:

Whether any of this actually reached Tuberville or even the Cincinnati football office is anyone's guess.
