Report: Oklahoma co-OC's firing led to DGB's early exit

Dorial Green-Beckham never played a snap at Oklahoma, but he planned to until the Sooners' recent staff shakeup.
Green-Beckham developed a strong relationship with former Oklahoma co-OC and WRs coach Jay Norvell throughout his initial recruitment, and that relationship helped the Sooners bring the former No. 1 recruit to Norman after he was dismissed from Missouri.
After the season, coach Bob Stoops fired both Norvell and co-OC Josh Heupel in favor of ECU offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley.
That move changed Green-Beckham's plans from sticking around for 2015 to entering this year's NFL Draft, according to an NFL.com report.
Green-Beckham is one of the most controversial members of this year's draft class. When he's drafted, it will have been 16 months since his last meaningful game after being dismissed from Missouri following two arrests on marijuana charges and accusations that he pushed a female student down some stairs after forcing his way into her apartment.
Green-Beckham was never charged or arrested for the incident because the alleged victim declined to prosecute, citing fear of media and community backlash.
Green-Beckham was ineligible for the 2014 season per NCAA transfer rules after the NCAA declined to grant him a waiver for immediate eligibility.
Texas hired Norvell to coach wide receivers last month.
During his short stay at Oklahoma, Green-Beckham avoided any trouble and drew rave reviews from coaches for his performance on the scout team.
