Marquette University guard Todd Mayo has been suspended indefinitely from the school's basketball team, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Coach Buzz Williams confirmed to the Journal Sentinel that Mayo has been serving a suspension but did not say for what or when he will be reinstated. He said that Mayo, the younger brother of Memphis Grizzlies guard O.J. Mayo, has not participated in the team's summer activities after his freshman season.
"He's suspended," Williams told the Journal Sentinel. "That's it. No specific incident. Nothing like that, but he is suspended."
Mayo averaged 7.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 21.1 minutes per game last season. He shot 41.9 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from 3-point range.
