Report: Manziel throws bash, Gordon there

BALTIMORE-- In addition to the suspension of Josh Gordon, several reports have surfaced that rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel was late for a scheduled treatment on his injured hamstring on Saturday.

Part of the reason might be due to a late night party thrown by Manziel.

According to a report by CBS' Jason La Canfora, both Manziel and Gordon were in attendance and it might have contributed to both being late to Saturday's team activities. The report said that team security officials had to go to Manziel's apartment to find his whereabouts.

Manziel is on injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury last week against the Carolina Panthers. If Manziel was late for a scheduled treatment on his injury, he can be fined by the team.

When contacted by Fox Sports Ohio, the Browns would not confirm whether Manziel would be fined.

Earlier this week, Manziel said he is a different person than he was when he first joined the Browns.

"The main thing is I'm not the guy that I've always been," Manziel said on Tuesday. "I'm not the Johnny Manziel that came in here a year ago and was talking to you guys when I first got here. I feel like I hardly know you guys, but it's a lot different now obviously for me. It's been a year of growing up for me. This is a job for me now. I have to take this a lot more seriously than maybe I did at first still going home and doing whatever I was doing in the offseason.

"Do I feel like that had a negative effect on me?" he said. "No, I don't, but at the same time, I'm extremely committed to this. I want what's best for this team and best for myself, and I think that moving forward this offseason, I just need to put in the time I need to put in and make sure I'm sharp because I want to give, next year and the following years that I'm here, all I have to try and as successful as possible."
