Report: Judge confirms Nowitzki is married

Is Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki married, or isn't he?
Though team officials have denied reports that Nowitzki and his fiancee, Jessica Olsson, were married late last month, the man who performed the ceremony says he pronounced the couple husband and wife.
Dallas County Judge Craig Smith told The Dallas Morning News on Wednesday he officiated the ceremony on July 20 at Nowitzki's Preston Hollow home.
Smith also said Nowitzki and
Olsson are likely now in the Caribbean for a marriage ceremony being attended by close family. Smith should know, because that ceremony required the valid marriage license he provided them, the newspaper reported.
As for the confusion surrounding the situation, photos appeared on the Internet last month of Nowitzki at what appeared to be a traditional Kenyan
wedding. Nowitzki was standing
next to Olsson in the photos, which led many to believe
the couple had tied the knot.
Smith clouded the issue a bit Wednesday when he said the event he officiated "wasn't a formal wedding
ceremony — and they didn't consider themselves married."
The reason for that, however, might stem from the fact the ceremony Smith performed was attended by a few close friends, the newspaper reported.
The couple has been reportedly engaged since April.
