ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Falcons are being investigated by the NFL for allegedly piping crowd noise into the Georgia Dome over the last two seasons, sources told ESPN.

"We were informed during the season that the league office is looking into crowd noise during our games," Falcons spokesman Reggie Roberts told FOX Sports South on Sunday. "We have cooperated fully with them, and we're awaiting the outcome."

According to the allegations, the Falcons played loud noise during games when opposing teams were in the huddle attempting to call a play. The tactic originated from the team's game operations department.

If the allegations prove true, the Falcons could be fined and forced to forfeit a draft choice.
