Report: Easley wants money for interviews

Apparently, replacement official Lance Easley -- the man who handed the Seattle Seahawks an unwarranted touchdown and almost singlehandedly ended the NFL referees lockout -- wants to profit from his 15 minutes of infamy.

Time's Sean Gregory has been talking to replacement officials for a story and on Friday tweeted about the unexpected response he got while trying to contact Easley: "Steve Finley, 'media adviser' to Lance Easley, ref who called Seattle TD, says he's advising Easley seek $$ for interviews. errr... "

Fans of the Green Bay Packers, who had a game stolen from them in front of a national television audience, surely wouldn't pay a dollar to listen to Easley after the way his first interview turned out.

Talking with TMZ.com on Thursday, Easley explained his rationale for the touchdown call and vigorously defended it, saying "I didn't do anything wrong."

That's wisdom no one should have to pay for.
