The San Antonio Spurs and Tim Duncan have an agreement in place for the free agent power forward to return to the Spurs on a new three-year deal, reports the San Antonio Express News.
A league source told the newspaper that terms are set to be similar to the deal that Boston's Kevin Garnett received at 3-years and $36 million.
Duncan was drafted by San Antonio in as the No. 1 overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft out of Wake Forest. He a two-time MVP (2002, 2003) and has led the Spurs to four NBA Championships (1999, 2003, 2005, 2007).
Last season, Duncan averaged 15.4 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in helping San Antonio to the league best 50-16 record, which they shared with the Chicago Bulls.
The deal can not become official until free agents are able to sign on Wednesday.
