105,000.
As first reported by The Dallas Morning News, that's how many people the NFL is projecting to attend Super Bowl XLV on Feb. 6 and would constitute a record for a Super Bowl game.
The existing record is held by the 1980 Super Bowl, which took place at the Rose Bowl and drew 103,985. Cowboys Stadium itself doesn't have quite that capacity, with 95,000 spectators in the stands together with 5,000 media members and staff.
What will put it over the top, though, is the decision to sell Party Plaza seats outside the building for $200 apiece. On Wednesday, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said that all 5,000 were sold out, putting on Dallas on track to break the record.
As staggering a number as it will be, it still will not set the high-water mark for an event at Cowboys Stadium. That honor belongs to the 2010 NBA All-Star Game, which a whopping 108,713 attended.
