A woman who falsely accused Long Beach Poly football standout Brian Banks of rape in 2002 was ordered to pay $2.6 million to the Long Beach Unified School District.

Wanetta Gibson sued the district for lax security during the trial and received $750,000 from a $1.5 million settlement.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge ordered her to pay $1.5 million, plus an additional $1.1 million in punitive damages.

Gibson's whereabouts are currently unknown, but the Press Telegram reports that the ruling allows the school district to obtain Gibson’s future wages and property.

Gibson confessed that she made up the rape charge against Banks, who was convicted and served more than five years in prison. A judge reversed Banks’ conviction in 2012.

Banks, 27, signed with the Falcons in April.
