Detroit Lions first-round pick Riley Reiff has signed his rookie contract and will report to training camp Monday with the rest of the first-year players.

Based on the NFL’s rookie pay scale, the four-year deal is worth around $8 million.

Reiff, an offensive lineman who played in college at Iowa, is expected to compete for a starting job at one of the tackle positions. He was the No. 23 pick overall in April’s NFL Draft.

"I didn't want to miss any time," Reiff told reporters during a news conference Monday. "I thought it was a big part of this whole process to get it done by the time training camp started."

Reiff was the last of the Lions’ draft picks to sign his deal.

Veteran players report Thursday. Practices begin Friday.
